Crafting can be an incredibly fulfilling hobby, allowing us to express our creativity and make something with our own hands. However, finding high-quality craft supplies at an affordable price can be a challenge. Recently, I decided to try purchasing craft supplies from Temu, an online retailer known for its super low prices. But after receiving my order, I couldn’t help but wonder: was it a bad decision? In this blog post, I’ll share my experience of buying craft supplies from Temu, and whether or not I would recommend them to other crafters.
Is Temu Legit?
First, let me tell you about Temu. It’s an online shopping site that has thousands and thousands of products. Some do look too good to be true, while others you can pretty much see what you are getting. They have some great deals, for sure. And it works because they bring together sellers who have products to sell at very low prices. From what I can see, most of the things are from China. So take that for what it’s worth.
I think I saw a YouTube video talking about Temu that got me curious. So I had to check them out for myself. And yes, it is a legit company. If you place an order you will get it. In fact, if you sign up for their SMS alerts, you will be notified where your package is every step of the way until it gets to you. And when I visited their site for the first time I was really impressed with what they have. So much so that I had to make an order for myself. For testing purposes, right? Sure! Well, that’s what I told myself. It’s for research!
Temu For Craft Supplies?
And before I get into my thoughts on Temu, I have to tell you, I am not sponsored in any way by Temu. They have reached out and asked if I wanted to be an affiliate for them, but I have not signed up for that. I don’t feel that I can be 100% honest and transparent if I am associated with a company. I don’t want to feel swayed to say only the good. And I think that’s what happens a lot when people become affiliates of a company. So any of the links I provide for you in this post, none of them are sponsored. I get nothing from Temu for sharing this information.
Should You Shop On Temu? Is It Worth It?
So I placed my order and waited. My order was placed on March 18th, and I received it on March 31st, just like they said I would. The first good thing about Temu is they offer free shipping, so this is nice. And I have to say, as they days passed, I was getting very excited for my order to get to me. Some of the things I ordered were just so cool, I couldn’t wait for them to get to me. And even though my order got to me on time and I was so anxious to open it – I couldn’t. I wanted to wait, and open it while I was filming a video. I wanted to have my true reactions to my order on camera. And yes of course, I made a video about it! I have it for you right here:
And believe it or not, this even ties in to my 30 day challenge. But more on that in a minute. For now, here is an overview of the things I got from Temu:
As you can see, I got a lot of flowers, some artist’s paint brushes, and even a cow canvas that I’m going to have to stretch and create a frame for. #anothercraftproject
Overall, I think I got some good deals. Like the flowers. The white flowers are so beautiful. And they were affordable. This is how the flowers were depicted on Temu:
And this is what they looked like in person:
And at $1.78 a bunch, this is a very affordable floral piece for decorating or even just crafting with. However, the spring wreath I bought was not truly represented on the website.
I saw this spring wreath, and I was VERY excited. Look at how beautiful this is! But this is NOT what the wreath looked like when I got it.
When I got my wreaths, they looked nothing like the photo. And I apologize for not getting a good picture of the wreaths. But if you watch my video, you can see the entire wreath. It’s disappointing, honestly. So this is where my 30-Day craft comes in. I had to ‘improve’ the wreaths to make them look a little bit more like the photo of what I thought I was getting. It was the same way with the horse head wreaths. I felt like I got duped. But you live and learn, right?
Temu – Should You Shop or Should You Skip?
I am a little torn with Temu. I mean the flowers, those are great. And I am considering placing another order for strictly florals for crafting. However, when it comes to getting wreaths or already completed florals – I will try not to add those to my cart. No matter how badly I want the photo to be a true representation of what I will be getting. Because the wreaths were the biggest disappointment from my order. The paintbrush set, though, was good. So for the crafting supplies I bought, I was very happy with the items.
Should You Shop On Temu? Is It Worth It?
So my advice, for what it’s worth, is to shop Temu with an open mind, but don’t get sucked in. If it seems too good to be true, well, you know how that saying goes.
I feel that Temu does have some really great deals. And yes, I will shop there again. And if you are wondering if you can trust the site, yes, yes, you can. It’s real, and you will get your order. You can even use Paypal for your purchase. That’s what I did, just in case. Because Paypal is very good about getting your money back if you get scammed. So I think you are safe to shop on Temu. And who knows, you might find some great deals too!
